For the sake of time and sanity, I’ve decided to compile a this entire week into one giant segment post, all 5 segments in one and honestly, I really don’t know where to start! Let’s start with Monday’s Madness which was prep for Wednesday’s Valentines adventure. I filled out over 60 Vday cards and prepped 70 plus pieces of candy all because at my job, all my past class students reside on the first floor but split up into different age groups, so not wanting to leave anyone out I just went all in.
For the VPK class that I am now in, I made homemade cards from scratch as well as those for the previous class I left. Valentines day was a big hit! parents showed up and teachers, students and parents received some much deserved love from one another. THANK YOU WEEKDAY parents, teachers and staff for spreading the cupid bows :) <3.
On Tuesday, my original post was about one of the first stories I created “The Knight family”. It was about a family built on bits and pieces of other broken families that gathered over time under one roof. My topic question still serves as “Can you remember one of the first stories you ever wrote?” I also discuss the concept of “big” words vs “small” words as in fact being Elementary terms vs Graduated terms. Everyone uses Elementary words, they are words that are most familiar to us and is commonly used in EVERYONE'S vocabulary. Graduated terms are taught later on through experience in conversation or literature, in some cases even through media, they are usually active synonyms of the elementary terms we have known and loved. It is a preference to make more use of Graduated terms and does not determine the over all intellect of a person, in other words, just because someone uses “big” words doesn’t make them smart.
Elementary words:
mad, sad, happy, boy, girl, fake, real, peaceful, hungry, walk, drink
Graduated Terms:
Furious, melancholy, jovial, male, female, authentic, beverage, scroll
Whats been happening? Well, I’ve been tapping more into my teacher qualities and becoming more involved with the children's curricula. I am also remembering why teaching VPK was the most exciting yet hardest time of my life at Weekday, In all this I have decided to take more bolder approaches in my christian beliefs in order to pursuit and discuss it with others by not only studying the bible but searching for more christian related books to help get better insight on what I am reading. One of them that I am now reading is called “The 66 love letters, written by a certain Dr. Larry. He takes a very unique spectra of the bible as being a series of love letters. “A love story that begins with a divorce” as he puts it. It’s interesting because it makes sense that God would pursue us in hopes to be reconnected with us. We are responsible for our separation from Christ, but God STILL desires us and our hearts despite our betrayal. He wishes to be pursued of his children just as he does with us. Larry’s book is a very beautiful illustration of how God feels about us and what he is telling us through his word. It is only then that it can be of any benefit to use in our everyday lives.
New plans have been dreamed up and I am ready to go forward with Christ as the lead. (details in the future.)
In terms of beauty, my focus as been predominately with skin care, more detoxing periods and exfoliating to be rid of dry and cracked skin. Winter can be harsh to the melanin if not properly moisturized and the first step to that is knowing your skin type. I am oily, therefore I have to use anything that is oil or water based sparingly. My advise to you? use lip balm before the use of lipstick, moisturize before priming for extra protection. Find coconut, olive and shea butter products. When it comes to your Hair, it needs all the love it can get. Oils and balms for the scalp, leave in conditioners and detanglers are your saviors. Don’t skip wash days, coiled hair can suffer massive breakage if not properly maintained.
And as for my letter to society?
Dear Mentally or Physically abusive/manipulative people,
Your day is coming, as it does for all of us. Please refer to Romans 12:19 and be ready.
sincerely, 3V
BTW! Mega posts shall be made only in the event of a very busy work week!
