Verse of the day:

1 Chronicles 16:34

Give thanks to the Lord because He is good, because His faithful love endures forever.

Once upon a time, I felt as if true love was something to pursue in order to obtain. I felt that I had to chase it...I never knew that it was something I could be, because at my core, it's what me and all other believers of God are made of. God IS love and he has used the beauty of the Holy word express that in so many ways. Kaye Miller's "Called to Love", invites us on a journey of how to truly extend the hands of fellowship, community and Godly unity.

What I respect most about this book are the personal testimonies and witness to the ways in which God shines his love through us. One of the most powerful is the first one. She and her father were on a mission trip to assist a group of people who had leprosy, she speaks of an experience in which her father prayed for man in earnest while holding his bloodied, bandaged hands, his eyes filled with tears and his heart over pouring with love and it touch her. The love of God came to her and she claimed him and his love for herself. THIS is what true love is, it is to be called to the heart of the Lord and know that he cares for you, loves you so much that he gave his only son so that we could live. (John 3:16)

So you may ask, how do we use the love of God as an example for loving others the way he intended? He answers this on more than one occasion.

(John 13:34) A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.

(1 John 3:18) Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.

and (Luke 6:35) But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.

You may also ask then, What IS love, God answers this too, in one of my favorite verses: (1 Corinthians 13:4-8) Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

In giving my life to Yahweh, I received more that I thought. He brought me comfort, he brought me ease, he brought me peace and he brought me a reminder through the holy text and my own personal experiences of his unyielding love and care for me, he showed me through strangers, he showed me through co-workers, he showed me through circumstances where I once felt alone, he showed me through the love of my dear husband and those near and dear to me. I see him in the eyes of everyone who has truly witnessed him and now when I look in the mirror, I see him there too. <3

God is love,

I am love,

you are love,

and we are loved by the father.

I give this book a perfect 10/10 quills, it really helped me connect to my true calling in life and helped me to see clearly on what it means to truly love and be loved. I highly recommend it.
