The Countdown to Snezhnayah Begins!!!!! Let's Talk about it! :D

Calling all Genshin Impact Players! the ancient land of eternal snow and ice is rising above the horizons and I for one, am beyond excited! This update has been years in the making and the promo videos leading to the official release have been absolutely stunning and packed with lore! Today I'll be sharing my thoughts on some of those videos and my personal anticipations for August 12th, lets get into it!
"Frozen Tundra Shrouded in Wind and Snow"
I'm not going to lie, seeing the snowy landscape gave me severe flashbacks to Dragonspine X10!, anyone else? I just KNOW there's going to be areas that have "sheer cold" in effect. Aside from that, I was completely enchanted by how MAGICAL it all felt, it looks like something straight out of a fairy tale, all of the cathedral/castle-like buildings and ice covered statues, truly give it a "land frozen in time" feel. In spite of it's scenic beauty, there is a feeling of dread and impending doom beneath the blankets of snow. There are parts of Snezhnaya that are heavily industrial and stands in such stark contrast to everything else that it leaves you with this feeling of uneasiness. I can't wait to see how it looks on the map! It's supposedly inspired by Russia so I predict it will be the largest part of Teyvat.
"Sudden Snow"
The Tsaritsa is GORGEOUS!!!! Her being the archon of love makes her one of the most beautifully heartbreaking characters I've ever seen and the fact that she's named after princess Anastasia is just...PEAK writing! Not only are we finally introduced to her Majesty, we are given a host of new characters in this enchanted and haunted land: Vodynastia, Odette, (Our first ballerina!), Alyosha, Valeriy, and Pulcinella. I cannot wait to see who all becomes playable characters!
"Laws of the Bitter Frost"
This trailer focuses a lot on the land itself, which although is beautiful, it is HARSH and not like many of the lands we have traversed. We are shown first hand, how the traveler will be navigating through the ice and snow, the monsters we will be facing and an ever growing and alarming concern: Something is wrong with our Paimon and Traveler doesn't have much time to figure out what's wrong, nor do the people of this frozen paradise know what's coming.
For those of you that have not seen the video releases by Genshin on Youtube, I highly encourage you to!, There are a couple of videos that I did not mention here and those are: The Version 7.0 Special Program, it was a Livestream that revealed the gameplay for this update, including the puzzles, characters, enemies/bosses and exploration mechanics for Snezhnaya. There's also the "To Snezhnaya and the Future" video that was released back in April this year which was more of a developer presentation of what to expect from the new update without too much in-depth info but it is still worth the watch!
The official release for the 7.0 update is set for August 12, 2026, I WILL be writing an update blog after I've done some exploring and I can't wait to hear from all of you!
