The Hunt for Inspiration

Verse of the Day: John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they may have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

I saw it sitting idle, a few yards ahead, and believed that it would be easily captured with a net, and yet it was not to be, for it promptly grew wings and thus my chase for the uncertainty begins.

I caught the first flight out of town with binoculars in hand, waiting with anticipation to land for my prize but when it spotted me, with a wink and a tilt, towards the sea, head first did it dive.

From the airport I begged for directions to the nearest body of water, as it appeared to be close,

I nearly cried when I made it in time to catch the very last boat.

Out on the ocean, it splashed wildly and free, with my bare hands I intended to weigh it down and plunged myself forward at high speed.

Though it sensed my movement in the waves and made course to land, growing back its feet to tackle the sand.

By the time I caught up, I was tired and vexed, it was already noon but I swore to chase it to the moon,

I just needed a better plan and a new trick or two.

I left nets it jumped over and cages it unlocked, left motion detectors it thwarted with a rock.

Decided to get physical but it had been properly trained, decided to take deadly force for a change but determined I needed to work on my aim.

In a face off it turned to me, bored at my defeat,

With a shake of its head and a sigh, it patted a nearby chair and declared that I have a seat.

“You saw what you needed and ran after it, although you were not at your best, it's admirable to say the least, to put yourself through such a test.

You took a chance at capturing what it is that makes the creators work worthwhile, across a tightrope thin enough to be the dna of a wire and for that I will succumb to give you all that you desire.”

Inspiration does not yield or bend to the faint of heart, but those willing to follow no matter how far. It favors will, it favors might, and those unafraid to put up one hell of a fight.
