The Story Book House

Every door was a mouth I’d lend forth an ear, every peephole an eye from which I’d wipe a tear.

Through nooks and crannies, hidden pathways and narrow spines, I’d crawl through and climb into someone else's lives.

And what a curious wonder it was, how familiar it all felt to me, as if it wasn’t our first nor would it be our last meeting.

This place is special, you can even say divine, even with its dead hosts, it somehow feels alive.

In my memories, it resides, a towering marvel of architecture crowned of moss and vines, its stories breathing down hallways and stairwells of collected history.

Here lies the cradle and tomb of the Finch family.
