Welcome to Mariposa pt 1: The P.O.V of Celeste the Owl (yes, I'm blogging about Animal Crossing.)

Once upon a time there was a young owl with eyes made of stars and a heart for adventure….

Mom always told me that no matter where you are in the world, the stars will be our guide to light our paths along the way in this big world of ours. Never could I have imagined them shining a path to my new forever home. One day I received a phone call from my brother Blathers, the famous museum curator of all Animal Crossing. We were always big art and history buffs, it was our dream to open up a museum together, after mother and father left us to soar the clouds of the heavens, Blathers promised to continue all of their hard work and build the museum in their honor.

My favorite part was always the astronomy tower, I’d spent most of my childhood searching and documenting celestial bodies, I even named a star after mom. Dad had called me to let me know that the museum was now complete and that if I wanted to do some real stargazing I should take the next boat out. It had been a while since I'd taken out my beloved telescope….. astronomy was the passion of my life. It had once been my mother and fathers dream too… until the incident last year. Longing to have my eyes set on the heavens again I packed and caught a flight through Dodo Airlines, the quickest way to travel. I made landfall around 7 p.m. Dad was waiting for me on the docks. Mariposa was a beautiful place, from the crisp pine-covered cliff sides where flowers of every variety were nestled in beds of every color of the rainbow, to the lovely cottage homes sprinkled throughout near the shorelines, it was absolutely darling.

I saw bubbles and the lights of amusement park rides. The villagers were warm, friendly and happy as they made their way to the Town Square where K.K himself was performing live! I'd heard amazing things about this place but nothing could compare to actually being there. That night I was gifted with the greatest meteor shower show ever on Crescent Moon Cliff alongside mariposas own resident leader; Jasmine! What a magical evening it was! I’ve been visiting the island every clear and starry night since then, marveling at the cliffside architecture and fauna. At the very top of crescent moon mountain, Resident leader Jasmine has installed glowing moss, flowers and even chairs to sit and star gaze in, there's mountains that are free to explore and all types of hidden treasure, I even found golden roses! The villagers say that Cresent moon mountain is a sacred place on Mariposa and where one should go to find peace from day to day hustle and bustle. I’ve been contemplating some changes lately…maybe I’ll be calling Mariposa my new home soon. Yeah….soon.
