Verse of the day:
Colossians 1:16 For by him all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in Earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him.
In Alice's field journals it was very seldom in the beginning that she mentioned her daughter Jenna which led to a thought of irony: seeing that her interest between an elephant mother and her child was a focal topic in many of her entree's you'd think Jenna would be too. (I understand this lacks relevance, just making an observation.) Also I noticed that there is very few mentions of a "Father" elephant figure or maybe I'm digging to deep, As the relationship between Alice and her husband Thompson becomes clear, I think I understand why this is so. At some point for Alice, he seemed non existent, so for Jenna's sake this was probably the case as well. or maybe I'm wrong. Maybe the absence of Thompson in Jenna's life was being personified in the manners in which she studied elephant parenthood. Maybe this was one of the ways she handled that grievance. No daddy elephants allowed. What do you think?
