Verse of the Day: Proverbs 18:24 "A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: And there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother."

1. The Ghost Fan

This person swears on their mother and child that they support you and your craft( to your face) , yet... they have never purchased or even read any of your work. Not only that, they never share or speak about your writing to anyone of interest when the time calls for it. (ex: Stranger: hey do you know anyone that writes?)

Ghost fan: Not really

You: (insert pikachu meme)

2. The Nay Say

This is a common species on this list with a variety of forms within their natural environment that exist outside of the crack of their bums. This person, when you express that you are a writer, insists on telling you every possible horrible thing that can possibly go wrong in your journey along with a lengthy "real job." dialogue

3. The Ex Writer

We ALL have that person whom once they discover you write, proceed to go down memory lane to when they were the top writer in their fifth grade class and wrote a book by the time they were 12 but they lost it because of constantly moving around. yeah....please tell me ALL about it.....

4. The Elitist

This person is actually the most qualified to pass any judgment on your work...except all they offer is unsolicited and rather unhelpful criticism that usually borders between "you're unoriginal" and " I can write something better than that."

5. The Hater

I saved the very best for last, This person will make up 50 percent of negative people you'll meet as a writer. This person has very little going for them and will use every moment they have to judge your career path as something trivial and unimportant. They are type A gossip queens/kings and will tell people they have read your work (they haven't) and pretend to be interested in your work when in the presence of an audience.

I am more than confident that I'm missing one.Tell me, who've you met on your writing journey that just makes your skin crawl? comment below! and as always...

"For the love of life and literature, stay prayerful, stay positive and write on!"
