The matters of the community and of the world should be of importance to the christian community. When disasters strike, tragedy occurs or a global event that affects everyone occurs, the church should stand as a pillar of support to whomever it can. Preaching the word is only half the job. We have to be the lights of the world, not just provide words but actions of comfort.

Providing care, love, and lessons to those around us that so desperately needs it comes with the territory of being a follower of Christ.

Ask yourself " what can I do to help those in my community while doing the lords work?"

Here's a few ideas

1. Feeding at local shelters

2. Become apart of a disaster relief program

3. Volunteer

4. Read the word at nursing homes, hospitals or orphanages

5. Speak publically or attend local round tables.

6. Invite people to THE church, being the body of believers and not simply a building.

7. Make gift baskets for children and families in shelters

8. Donate or start an organization that focus on a problem you deem needs to be addressed

9. Stay up to date with local events and participate.

What I see happening is that the church has lost its heart for people. It values material and the appeasing of the flesh over one another. We have become a disjointed body.

I see people being rejected from the church based on how they look, how much tides they have given, because of who's church they used to attend, ect.

How do we expect to make future strides with primitive thinking? How can we call ourselves people of God and fail to love our neighbors as we should.

It has never been more urgent that the body of believers make it a personal agenda to see to it that the lords gospel be known AND done, that his life can be witnessed through us.

Its time for Gods people to take responsibility for its purpose. Don't you agree?
