Verse of the Day:
Luke 11:4
Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation.
When it comes to Black accomplishments here in the states and beyond, we are far from a shortage in greatness! I'd like to share 5 black individuals who I believe have made unique and powerful imprints to the face of black culture and needs to be given their flowers now!
Candace Owens
It would be CRIMINAL for me to make this list and not include this absolutely incandescent Queen! Mrs. Owens forever has my thanks for truly helping me see the foul and corrupt methods that the left wing government has used to victimize, extort and pander to the black community. She has offered me a fresh perspective as a black, American woman when it comes to political and social agenda's and I'm very thankful.
Misty Copeland
My love and patronage to the arts only intensified, after the arrival of this beautiful dancer back in 2015. She became the very first African American Prima ballet dancer at the American Ballet Theater. I only wish that you heard more about her and her career. I've seen her performances online and she's gorgeous onstage. When I was a little girl, I did a bit of recreational ballet and was obsessed with the art for quite some time, and although I never had the chance to properly pursuit, it is an art form that I greatly admire today.
Anok Yai
THE American, supermodel, Anok Yai, immediately captured my heart when photos of her attending a college event went viral online. Her arrival on the runway has ground-breaking and her walk, charisma, grace and natural ability to command a room never goes unnoticed. She is absolutely ethereal and I wish her all of the best because she deserves it!
Lupita Nyongo
From her moments in Black Panther, Wakanda Forever and Queen of Katwe (among her many star movie rolls) to her absolute Gem of a book, "Sulwe", Mrs. Nyongo is a treasure to the black community and her presence on the big screen means everything to young black girls and black women everywhere. She has been one of my greatest creative inspirations.
Kendrick Lamar
How can I NOT add THE Pulitzer prize winning, 5-time Grammy winner of 2025, and poetic Thanos that is Kendrick Lamar. I'm not the biggest fan of a rap or hip-hop fan BUT, I love his music and his ability to bring you into his world using what I can only call lyrical genius. His music videos are notable pieces of art as well, heavily riddled with symbolism and double entendres all throughout, even the manner in which albums and songs are delivered has everyone going full Sherlock Holmes mode in order to figure out what they could mean. Kendrick is an artistic legend now and he's definitely getting the flowers he deserves!, even from the most unlikely of people ;).
As we celebrate this years black history month, please remember, its STILL being made, we are LIVING in a time and in a nation where in spite of your color, social status, economic/financial position or any other adversity, the ground is ripe for success in the black community, its up to us to plant the seeds.
I myself am apart of black history, as are you. I encourage everyone to celebrate in reflection while also looking towards the future.
Black history is today, and every day that we live :).

and remember!
"For the love of life and the pursuit of the arts, stay prayerful and write on!"
